Mayur Madhvani is a Ugandan-based businessman, entrepreneur, and industrialist of Indian origin. He holds important roles in the Madhavani Group of companies headquartered in Kakira, Uganda, like International Master of Human Resource and General Management, International Master Director of Human Resource and General Management, International Master of International Business and Company Law. The Mayur Madhvani net worth is around £800 million.

Mayur Madhvani Early Life

He is the youngest son of Muljibhai Madhvani (1894-1958), who founded the Madhvani Group in 1930. He has four elder brothers: Jayant, Manubhai, Pratap, and Surendra. Mayur’s eldest brother Jayant passed away at the age of 49 suffering a heart attack in 1971 while on a business trip to India. His second eldest brother Manubhai passed away in 2012 at the age of 81.

After being expelled in 1972, the family returned to Uganda in 1979 when Amin was deposed. They also reclaimed all their assets. 

The flagship company of the family, Kakira Suger Limited, was also recovered successfully in 1985. Under the leadership of the Madhvani family, they steered KSW and ultimately became the largest producer of refined sugar in East Africa.

It is estimated that KSW produces 165,000 metric tonnes of sugar every year. It is 47 percent of the national output in 2011. The Group has also entered the power sector and spearheaded the co-generation of electricity at Kakira producing 52 megawatts, out of which 20 megawatts are internally used and 32 megawatts are sold to the national grid. Ethanol distillery was also set up in 2016 with a total capacity of producing 60,000 liters ethanol a day.
