We can get sleep in the short term, like sleeping for a short night when our brain accumulates ‘sleep pressure’. This term describes how strong the biological drive for sleep is. These sleep pressures make it easier for people to sleep the next night and for longer periods. 

Longer sleep the next night can relieve sleep pressure, but it does not reverse the short sleep effect on our brain and body. Sleep is very crucial for our body and for our brain to process the events of that day. Amid this hectic trend, it is good to catch up on sleep which could make you feel more rested.   • Maintain a wind-down routine, like you can take showers, or read books before bed.
  • Be consistent with your sleep routine and make sure you have similar bedtime and wake time even on weekends.
