Palak Sindhwani aka Sonu involves in a legal battle with show’s makers

After Shailesh Lodha and Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, the popular TV show Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah is heading to another legal battle. This time, it is Palak Sindhwani, who plays the character of Sonu Bhide in the show.

The official notification states that Palak participated in an unapproved third-party endorsement without getting written approval from the TMKOC makers which is necessary as per her contract. According to the makers, Palak breached her contract and these offenses are compromising her character and the series. 

TMKOC team has notified Palak numerous times through written and verbal warnings and violating the exclusivity contract. They were forced to take official action with strict consequences. 

Palak will soon leave the show making her another actor/actress leaving the long-running show in the last few years. 

Previous Legal Battles

Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal who played the role of Mrs Roshan Singh Sodhi filed a legal action against producer Asit Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj alleging that she tried to flirt her and offered sexual advances. 

The legal case was gone in favor of Jennifer and Asit Kumar Modi was ordered to pay Rs 5 lakh to pay off her outstanding debris. Later, she condemned the verdict and said, “I believe a woman’s reputation matters most. It’s been over 40 days, and I still haven’t received my due amount, which I earned through hard work on the serial. Despite proving Mr Modi guilty of sexual harassment, no punishment has been given to all three accused.” 

“Sohil and Jatin weren’t included in the verdict, which disappoints me. The local committee ordered my due amount, which I deserve. This verdict clears that my case was not fabricated and I wasn’t seeking cheap publicity. While I’m glad my harassment was recognised, I don’t feel I’ve received proper justice yet” Jennifer further stated.

Shailesh Lodha, who played the titular character, was also involved in a legal case where he payed his complete dues leading both the makers and Sailesh in a legal battle. Shailesh won the legal case in 2023 and the makers were subjected to pay the complete amount. 

The popular show Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltaah Chashmaah si one of the longest show that has been running since July 28, 2008, which is also available on the Sony Liv platform.m
