The Prabhas and Deepika Padukone-starrer , Kalki 2898 AD, is all set to stream in different Indian languages including Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada on Prime Video. Meanwhile, Kalki’s Hindi version will be released on the same day, i.e August 22 on Netflix.
Kalki 2898 to stream on two OTT platforms
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Prime Video India shared a poster of the movie on Saturday announcing the much-awaited movie Kalki 2898. The caption of the viral post reads, “The dawn of a new ERA awaits you. And this is your gateway into the GRAND world of Kalki… Kalki 2898 AD on Prime… Aug 22.”
On the other end, another popular OTT streaming app, Netflix India shared a promo of the movie featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan film and wrote a caption that reads, “Iss yug ka EPIC blockbuster aa raha hai Netflix par, Hindi mein (Blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD is arriving in Hindi on Netflix). Watch Kalki 2898 AD Hindi arriving on 22nd August on Netflix.”
The sci-fi extravaganza is the latest Indian movie to cross the ₹1000 crore mark at the box office across the world. The film was released in theatres on June 27, 2024, in different languages and did a whopping collection at the box office, minting over ₹1041.6 crore across the world.
Nag Ashwin directed the movie, he earlier helmed projects such as Mahanati and Yevade Subramanyam, Kalki 2898 AD has were produced by Vyjayanthi Movies.
Initially, the movie was titled Project K, as it described a fusion of the Hindu epic Mahabharata and science fiction. The movie also features Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Shobhana in pivotal roles, and it was released worldwide in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English.
Amitabh Bachchan, 81, who played the role of Ashwathhama in the movie, earlier expressed his affection for the Kalki project in a long post on his blog. The actor called the movie a ‘massive spectacle’, and added that this movie is a ‘merger of myth and reality’ and a learning to the filmmakers on the process of putting all the greatness offering enrich experience to the users.
